These terms and conditions of use for the EIPR Web Portal contain essential information about your legal rights and obligations. You should read these terms and conditions along with the Canada.ca Terms and Conditions. In case of discrepancy, the present terms and conditions of use apply.
For the purposes of these terms and conditions of use, ESDC means His Majesty the King in right of Canada as represented by the Minister of Employment and Social Development. CEIC means Canada Employment Insurance Commission.
Your access and use of the EIPR Web Portal are subject to your acceptance and compliance of these terms and conditions of use. If you fail to comply with any of the provisions of these terms and conditions, your access and use of the EIPR Web Portal will automatically terminate.
By accepting the following terms and conditions of use, you agree that:
- any information you provide when using the EIPR Web Portal is true, accurate, current and complete;
- unless you notify the CEIC of an update or discrepancy in your information, the CEIC will rely on the information submitted;
- the information you provide will be accessible to authorized ESDC staff involved in the administration of the EIPR Program;
- you are responsible, accountable and liable for all use or misuse of the EIPR Web Portal associated with your information;

you must use the services offered by the EIPR Web Portal for their intended purposes only and you must
not upload:
- anything unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, pornographic, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libellous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
- advertising, promotional materials, junk mail, spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any other form of solicitation; or
- anything that intentionally or unintentionally violates any applicable municipal, provincial, federal, or international law.
- ESDC may shut down or interrupt the EIPR Web Portal functionalities at any time for the security or maintenance of the system. Notices regarding outage will be posted on the Service Canada website. ESDC accepts no responsibility, accountability or liability for any harm, damage or delay in processing;
- these terms and conditions may be modified by ESDC or the CEIC at any time without notice and that such modification will be effective immediately.
Protecting your personal information and privacy is important to us.
Service Canada, which is part of Employment and Social Development Canada, administers the EIPR program.
The information you provide when using the EIPR Web Portal:
- is collected by Service Canada under the authority of the Employment Insurance Act and the Department of Employment and Social Development Act for the purpose of their administration and enforcement;
- will be used to assess your eligibility for the EIPR program, to maintain program records, and to contact you if additional information is required;
- when authorized by law and consistent with the original purpose of collection, the information may be shared with other federal government departments and agencies, such as the Canada Revenue Agency, for purposes related to the administration of benefits and services, or with provincial authorities for the enforcement of relevant legislation;
- may also be used for policy analysis, research, and program evaluation. These activities will not be used to make decisions about your file;
- Department of Employment and Social Development Act, the Privacy Act, and other applicable laws.
If you refuse to provide the requested personal information, you may be unable to access the EIPR Web Portal or participate in the EIPR program. Your personal information in relation to online services will be managed and administered in accordance with the Department of Employment and Social Development Act, the Privacy Act, and other applicable laws.
Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to the protection of, access to, and correction of your personal information, which is described in the following personal information banks: Employment Insurance Claim Files – ESDC PPU 151 and Employment Insurance Premium Reduction Program – ESDC PPU 302. More information about these personal information banks, including instructions for making formal requests about your personal information, is available in Info Source. If you don’t agree with the way Service Canada handles your personal information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada to report a concern.
